GLOUCESTER, NJ (January 21, 2009) -- Promotional products boutique
Rowan & Associates LLC has announced the addition of its new product
line: GREEN USA. The company, headquartered in southern New Jersey
for nearly 15 years, has launched a product line that features
environmentally friendly promotional products that are Made in the USA.
As America enters into a new era of responsibility, Rowan & Associates
reaffirms its commitment to the environment and to the American
economy. "With today's economic and environmental concerns, we
understand the need for change within our own industry," said Rose
Rowan, President and CEO, Rowan & Associates LLC. "We've already
made the pledge to offer our clients sustainable alternatives to imprinted
items, and now we are taking that commitment one step further by offering
GREEN products made by American companies."
"It's important when considering the global issues of our day, that we take
a leadership position by offering products that will make an impact on the
US economy and the environment," said Rowan.
According to recent research done by Rowan & Associates, the number of
environmentally friendly, Made in USA promotional products number in the
thousands. "We've seen tremendous growth of GREEN products in the
promotional products industry and it's encouraging to see the increase of
GREEN, American-made products," said Rowan. "Now is the time to raise
awareness of American manufacturers and their employees by promoting
a line of high quality, competitively priced products. It is our hope to bring
production jobs back to America.”
"Two years ago our plan was to make an impact on the environment by
offering sustainable business products to our customers," said Rowan.
"We wanted to help our clients implement their GREEN values. Now it's
time to add economic values for a stronger America."
The Promotional Products Association International, the industry's
international not-for-profit trade association, notes that promotional
products accounted for nearly $20 billion in the corporate marketing mix in
2007, more than a 4% increase from the previous year. Rowan is anxious
to see the numbers for 2008 and is optimistic that a considerable part of
dollars spent will be on GREEN promotional products. "In 2009, we are
hoping to see a large increase in GREEN USA products," said Rowan.
"Our nation’s workers deserve this type of support."
No stranger to innovation, Rose Rowan, an advocate of environmental
awareness for years, was instrumental in helping New Jersey achieve
recognition as one of the first states to embrace recycling. In the late
1970s, Rowan led a team that developed the idea of towing a “recycling”
trailer behind a waste management vehicle for the collection of trash and
recyclable material at the same time.
Established in 1993, Rowan & Associates is a privately held, full service
promotional and marketing boutique that represents some of the country’s
largest corporations. With access to nearly one million promotional and
motivational products, Rowan & Associates works with customers to
promote their businesses, introduce new products and initiatives, generate

Rowan Goes Green- One Year Later
GLOUCESTER, NJ (March 12, 2008) –- One year ago promotional products boutique Rowan & Associates LLC added a new product line: GREEN. The company, headquartered in southern New Jersey for nearly 15 years, made the commitment to provide a greater selection of environmentally friendly products in an effort to assist clients adopting green business initiatives of their own.
Upon launching the GREEN product line, the availability of environmentally friendly promotional products was limited to approximately 200-300 items. One year later that figure has grown to nearly 10,000 eco-friendly promotional products. “We’ve seen tremendous growth of GREEN products in the promotional products industry. This is due largely to suppliers taking a second look at their existing products and identifying those that are already environmentally friendly,” said Rose Rowan, President and CEO, Rowan & Associates. “We are also seeing suppliers making considerable manufacturing efforts that demonstrate their corporate responsibility for a more sustainable planet.”
Visit www.greenideas4u.com to see a sampling of GREEN promotional products. According to Rowan, one year ago it was a challenge to find new GREEN products for the website. Today the challenge is keeping up with the overwhelming amount of products available. Eco-friendly items on the website include apparel made from GREEN materials, live plants, biodegradable, recyclable and recycled promotional products.
“One year ago our plan was to make a difference by offering more sustainable business products to our customers,” said Rowan. “We wanted to help our clients implement their green values and we have succeeded. We have and will continue to do our part by promoting environmental responsibility within the promotional products industry.”
“We are seeing a greater demand for products that leave less of an impact on the environment. It’s incredibly encouraging.” said Rowan. The complete range of promotional products can be found on Rowan & Associates’ company web site, www.rowanassoc.com. “We’ve always taken pride in our ability to listen to our clients needs and provide them with products that will help them meet their business objectives,” said Rowan. ”That is why for companies adopting green initiatives, we naturally have the resources to support their endeavors.”
In addition to promoting GREEN promotional products, Rowan & Associates has always been an advocate of GREEN office practices that according to Rowan, are making a difference. “We are GREEN. Our office is paperless and energy efficient. We rely on natural light sources and our climate control system had been programmed for optimal energy usage. We’ve eliminated plastic water bottles by switching to an eco-friendly water cooler. When possible all of our presentations are produced electronically. The minimal amount of waste that we do produce is taken to a recycling facility,” said Rowan. “These are changes that really make a difference.”
According to Promotional Products Association International, the industry's international not-for-profit trade association, promotional products accounted for nearly $19 billion in the corporate marketing mix in 2006, more than a 4% increase from the previous year. Rowan is anxious to see the numbers for 2007 and is optimistic that a considerable part of dollars spent will be on GREEN promotional products. “We are expecting to see a huge increase in GREEN promotional products for 2008,” said Rowan. “It’s exciting to be part of a movement that is really growing.”
No stranger to the forefront of innovation, Rowan, an advocate of environmental awareness for years, was instrumental in helping to achieve New Jersey’s recognition as one of the first states to embrace recycling. In the late 1970s, Rowan, then an employee of General Engines of Thorofare, NJ, lead a team that developed the idea of towing a “recycling” trailer behind a waste management vehicle to enable the collection of trash and recyclable material at the same time. The town of Woodbury, NJ was the first in the state to adopt this concept.

Rowan & Associates, Rowan Goes GREEN Page 1 GLOUCESTER, NJ (December 19, 2007) –- Promotional products distributor Rowan & Associates, LLC recently added a new line to its offerings: GREEN Promotional Products. The company, headquartered in southern New Jersey for nearly 15 years, made a commitment recently to provide a greater selection of environmentally friendly products to clients interested in adopting green business initiatives.
“Our plan is to make a difference by offering more sustainable business products to our customers,” said Rose Rowan, President, Rowan & Associates. “We want to help companies implement their green values; yet, it’s about more than that. We want to do our part by promoting environmental responsibility within the advertising specialties industry.”
Rowan says products qualifying for GREEN status today are made from resources such as recycled materials, organic cotton, corn plastic, and soy. “More and more resources are being discovered everyday,” says Rowan.
Visit www.greenideas4u.com and see the new green offerings. One new item appearing on this new site designed especially for the GREEN Products is the Newsprencil. Made from 75% recycled paper and 25% new paper, the pencil is available with white, green, red, yellow, or royal blue barrels. Other eco-friendly items on the site include apparel, live plants, and biodegradable and recycled promotional products like mugs and Frisbees.
“Of course, we will continue to offer all the same items we’ve always had for our clients,” said Rowan. The complete range of promotional products can be found on Rowan & Associates’ company web site, www.rowanassoc.com. “We pride ourselves on our ability to listen to our clients needs and provide them with products that will help them meet their goals,” said Rowan. ”That is why for companies adopting green programs, we have a good selection of products for their consideration, too.”
Large companies like IBM and Xerox have green manufacturing processes. Colleges and universities embrace green activism. “More businesses—large and small—are getting on the bandwagon, too, and we can help them,” said Rowan. In addition to saving the environment, Rowan says other reasons her company and other businesses adopt green programs range from cutting costs and enhancing reputation to building goodwill with customers, employees, shareholders, and the community.
According to Promotional Products Association International, the industry's international not-for-profit trade association, promotional products accounted for nearly $19 billion in the corporate marketing mix in 2006, more than a 4% increase from the previous year. Rowan says this magnitude commands a sense of social responsibility that cannot be ignored.
“It’s difficult to be a steward of the environment in the promotional products industry,” says Rowan. “Yet we are up for the challenge. We are introducing our line of GREEN promotional products in the hope that more and more eco-friendly products will become frontrunners in our industry.”
No stranger to the forefront of innovation, Rowan, an advocate of environmental awareness for years, was instrumental in helping to achieve New Jersey’s recognition as one of the first states to embrace recycling.
